The Wait Begins....

About 5 years ago, Ryan and I began to feel the pull on our hearts to adopt from China.  Over the last few years God brought us to Rio Rancho, led us into foster care, brought children into our home who challenged us, held our hearts when they would leave, and He has brought us to where we are today.  He has chosen a child who needs our family and we are now on the journey to bring him home from the other side of the world.

In September of last year, Ryan and I filled out the application to begin the process of adopting from China.  So, for the last few months we have filled out form after form, prayed, went through the long international homestudy process, prayed, back ground checks, kept praying, fingerprinting - you get the picture.  Then last week we were told that we were matched with (God had chosen) a little boy in China!  To say we were excited doesn't even seem appropriate!

His name is Xin Tong, and he is 3 years old.  He lives with a foster family in China, and the foster family is American!  How awesome is that?!  We are thrilled he is already learning English and eating American food!

Now we begin the wait.  We are hoping to travel to China in 4-6 months to bring Xin Tong home.  In the mean time, we have many more forms to fill out for the international adoption process to be completed.

We are praying throughout the day for Xin Tong.  Please join us as we pray for his continued safety, that he feels loved and cherished even now, for his health, and that the Lord will prepare his little heart for this huge change about to come into his life.

We are so excited that God has chosen Xin Tong for our family, and we will do our best to keep you up to date on what is going on as we get closer to bringing our new son and brother home.

  2. Oh my goodness! I'm so excited for you - a boy!! What a handsome guy. :) His transition should go a bit easier since he'll be familiar with English. Yay!! :)
